The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, AA Battery Powered, LED Warning Light Indicators, model 900-CUDR, is an alarm combo that detects smoke, fire, & carbon monoxide gas, using a single alarm. Operating on two AA batteries (included) for protection during a power failure, the Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking the unit to ensure the device is operating as expected*. Photoelectric sensing technology that senses visible fire particles (associated with smoldering fires), while an electrochemical sensor detects carbon monoxide. When a smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide event occurs, the Kidde fire alarm warns with an 85-decibel alarm sound & flashing red LEDs. Three LED warning lights provide status of the alarm: a green status alerts to the alarm operating properly, amber alerts to faulty operation or connection, and red alerts to smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide. When the smoke alarm is at the end of its life span, the detector will announce, “Replace Alarm!”. Kidde Smoke Detector, Hardwired Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup, Front-Load Battery Door, Test-Silence Button, model i12060A, is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source. In the event of a power failure, the Kidde fire alarm comes equipped with a 9V battery backup. Using ionization sensing technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.
Designed to be easy to install, this Kidde smoke detector includes a pre-stripped wiring harness with easy-off cap. The front battery door makes it simple to replace the smoke alarm’s battery backup without the need to remove the alarm from the mounting bracket. Red LEDs indicate 4 modes of operation: Standby Mode – flashes every 40 seconds to indicate the smoke alarm is operating properly; Alarm Mode – alarm senses products of combustion; Alarm Memory – to indicate the alarm has been activated; and Hush mode – silences the alarm for approximately 7 minutes. Green LED indicates AC power.
